Gift cards can be great gifts. They are convenient and allow the receiver to purchase whatever products and services they choose from a particular gift card merchant. Best Buy, Costco, Target and Wal-Mart gift cards seem to be some of the more popular ones and they give the shopper a large product selection along with discounted prices.
